  1. Use recycled newspapers to cover the garden weed barrier with organic compound. Get color pages and extends three to six layers of papers between the rows of plants and under them as a barrier against weeds. Newspapers offer the additional advantage of reducing soil depletion and the rains can prevent disease spores infest your plants.
  2. Place a layer of 2-4 inches (5-10 cm) of organic mulch in the garden weed barrier. Including grass clippings, straw, pine needles, wood chips and any organic material are included. The organic material provides the additional benefit of healing soil nutrients as they will wear during the summer. Has the risk of producing a nitrogen-deficient, because this nutrient decreased during the decomposition process.
  3. Cover the garden with plastic black. Buy rolls of plastic black at a hardware store for a modest sum of money. For small areas, just short duty trash bag and spread it under your plants. The plastic black keeps the earth warm and encourages production plant who loves the heat, such as tomatoes and peppers.
